Daniel
Tidwell
Classification: Senior
Major: Biblical and Theological Studies and English
Hometown: Lawrenceville, GA
Daniel Tidwell grew up near Atlanta where his parents
Chris and Donna Tidwell served as youth ministers. Now a
senior, Daniel was home schooled through twelfth grade
and received word about Lee through his older sister,
Ashley, a recent graduate.
Daniel explains that upon coming to Lee he was
originally a Telecommunications major, but soon learned
his passion for English. Currently a double major in
English and theology, Tidwell’s senior year is going
fast.
A pivotal point of Daniel’s experience at Lee was on a
cross-cultural trip to Ecuador, where he was able to
study Latin American writers and New Testament theology.
“It was a very impactful trip,” he explains. Something
about that trip helped to shape the direction Daniel
would take.
After school, Tidwell plans to attend graduate school
for theology and then go on to teach at the college
level. When discussing Lee University, Tidwell shares
the activities that he has taken part in over the years
and urges students, “to take advantage of the
opportunities that are here.”
Currently Tidwell serves as secretary of student
development for the Student Leadership Council. He is
part of the English Honors Society, has in past years
served as a Resident Assistant, was part of Lee Singers
and the peer leader group, and is a Kairos Scholar.
Tidwell likes Lee, because “it’s an environment where so
many people with so many different ideas can come
together.” Posted on - 10/09/06 |
